Westminster Abbey is a royal church located in Dean's Yard, at 20 Deans Yd, London, United Kingdom. Situated to the west of the Palace of Westminster, the abbey was founded in 960, and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It was built in the Gothic style, designed by the Surveyor of the Fabric of Westminster Abbey. It is a large church with a floor area of 32,000 square feet (3,000 m2) and has two towers. The church is officially known as the Collegiate Church of Saint Peter at Westminster. Westminster Abbey is also the burial site of over 3,300 notable people, including monarchs, prime ministers, actors, poets, scientists, and so on. The State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II was held at Westminster Abbey on Monday 19th September 2022. It is also the venue for the Coronation of Charles III and Camilla on 6 May 2023.
