Santa Margherita Lines is an old historical site situated near the city of Cospicua, in south eastern Malta. It includes a number of fortifications constructed in the late 17th - early 18th century by the local rulers in order to protect the country from possible outside invasions. The historic site is in quite a good condition and is located between Mosta and Naxxar. It can be found directly above Wied-il Ghasel valley. The site actually includes two lines of the fortifications which are on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is an important tourist attraction visited by a large number of tourists from around the world.
