Sana'a (صنعاء‎) is one of the largest cities of Yemen and the capital of the same name governorate. Located very high in the mountains (at an elevation of about 7,500 ft), the city is known as one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements and one of the highest capital cities in the world. It is an important tourist destination, with many historic buildings, mosques, parks, fountains, monuments, and other points of interest. The Old City of Sanaʽa is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site.
