Salisbury is a city in southeastern Maryland, United States, situated at the head of the Wicomico River and to the south of the Delaware-Maryland state border. It is the seat of Wicomico County, as well as the largest city in the region. It is also the main city of Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was founded in 1732, incorporated in 1854, and named for the cathedral city in England. It is home to Salisbury University and Wor-Wic Community College.
