Saint Martin, sometimes referred to as the Collectivity of Saint Martin, is a small community and a state which can be found on a small island in the Atlantic Ocean, in the Caribbean region. Saint Martin occupies some area on the island of Marigot, and for quite a lot of time the area used to be a part of the neighboring state of Guadalupe. However, in 2007 the state of Saint Martin gained its independence and started developing as a separate state and a separate culture. The total number of people living in the state is close to thirty five people, with the town of Marigot being the capital city of the state. Due to the remote location of the island it is not the tourist destination.
