It is the seat of the bishop of Liverpool designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in the Gothic Revival style and built between 1904 and 1978. Liverpool Cathedral is a Grade I listed building listed on the National Heritage List for England. The cathedral has the largest pipe organ in the country built by Henry Willis & Sons. There is also a red telephone box, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, in the cathedral.
