Lewiston is a city in the central part of Androscoggin County, southwestern Maine, United States. It is the second largest city as well as the most populous city in the state, located on the Androscoggin River, halfway between Augusta and Portland. The city has a few nicknames like "The Lew" or "Little Canada". It was incorporated as Lewiston in 1863.
