A small peninsula located between Block Bay and the Sulzberger Ice Shelf in northwest Antarctica, Guest Peninsula is just about 45 miles long, snow-covered land. The first scientists arrived there at the beginning of the 20th century, so they discovered the peninsula and a small peak, now known as Mitchel Peak. The current name of the peninsula was given by the members of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition in the 1940s.
