It was opened in October 1917. The market filled the ground floor of the Homer Laughlin Building which is a landmark building and the first steel-reinforced, fireproof structure in the region. The building was designed in the Beaux Arts style by John B. Parkinson in 1896. Grand Central Market is home to lots of florists, food vendors, etc. It also hosts various events and game nights.
