The town of Enfield is located 9 miles south of Springfield and 20 miles north of Hartford, in Hartford County, northern Connecticut, United States. It was originally inhabited by the Pocomtuc, settled in 1679, and incorporated on May 16, 1683. The town is bordered by the Connecticut River to the west, Somers to the east, Longmeadow and East Longmeadow to the north, Ellington and East Windsor to the south. It is home to Enfield Historical Society, Enfield Town Annex, and Scantic River State Park. Enfield Twin Rinks, Brainerd Park, Royce Memorial Park, Chloe's Pond, Enfield Public Library, Enfield Tennis Club, the Enfield Square Mall, and The Court Basketball are among the attractions in the town. Enfield is known as being home to the U.S. headquarters of Lego, a very famous plastic building toy manufacturer. It is also one of the top employers in the town.
