DeLand is a city in Western Volusia County, northern Florida, United States, as well as a part of a large urban area Deltona–Daytona Beach–Ormond Beach. Located 41 miles north of Orlando, it is a typical outskirts community, with a quiet and relaxed lifestyle. The city was founded in 1876 and named after Henry Addison DeLand. It is a destination for shoppers and home to the oldest private college in the state, Stetson University which was established in 1883. DeLand is also home to Daytona State College and Florida Technical College.
