West Side Story (2021) Locations

Starring Ansel Elgort, Rita Moreno, Corey Stoll, Maddie Ziegler, Brian d'Arcy James, Talia Ryder, Jamie Harris, Rachel Zegler, and Kyle Allen, the film is based on the book by Arthur Laurents as well as loosely based on Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. The film premiered on 29 November 2021 at the Lincoln Center and was released on 10 December 2021, in the United States. It won many awards and nominations including "Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role" (Ariana DeBose). It follows two teenagers from different ethnic backgrounds who fall in love with each other in 1950s New York City. West Side Story was shot in New Jersey, USA. New York City, Newark, and Paterson were among the filming locations.
