It follows a family that is shattered when their son gets charged with murder. Defending Jacob was shot in different cities of Massachusetts such as Newton, Belmont, Salem, Walpole, Worcester, etc. Filming locations included Town Diner, University of Massachusetts Amherst - Mount Ida Campus, and Cold Spring Park.
