Absolutely the Oasis on the Westbank. This is my neighborhood, and my native-born husband and I used to make up stories about this place when we would drive by.
The other commenter is wrong. It wasn’t filmed at the Siesta Motel.
It was filmed at the Oasis Motel in Gretna, LA just a few miles away and closer to New Orleans. You can even see the same blue/aquamarine and white diamond exterior detailing that were in the movie.
That is the Siesta Motel in Marrero on the Westbank Expressway.
