Opened in 1960, it is the hub for AnadoluJet, Corendon Airlines, Freebird Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, SunExpress, Southwind Airlines, and Turkish Airlines. Since it is situated on the Mediterranean coast, the airport is very busy, especially in summer, and known for its regular flights to Northern Europe. Antalya Airport is the second-busiest airport in Turkey as well as one of the busiest in the Middle East.
