Aneta is a small city in north eastern North Dakota, USA. The town is situated right near Highway 32, quite close to the border between the US and Canada. The settlement was established in the mid 1880s and named after the first female settler of the town, Aneta Mitchel. Just a decade later after the establishment of the town, a railway was extended till it, so it became quite easy to reach the town. In the beginning of the 20th century, the population of town was close to 600 people, but the number of residents of Aneta has been decreasing firmly ever since. Today, there are about 225 people living in the town, which is close to 65 families.
