The second-largest city in Egypt and one of the most modern communities in the country, Alexandria (الإسكندرية) is located on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and is among the numerous cities situated in the delta of the Nile which is one of the greenest areas on the whole African continent. Founded centuries ago by Alexander the Greatest, Alexandria is a known historic center with a large number of monuments, museums, and numerous religious and cultural points of interest. The city is modern and beautiful, with plenty of old landmarks and skyscrapers which can be observed in the central part of Alexandria. It is one of the busiest tourist centers of the country and those who visit Alexandria enjoy observing the city life from Qaitbay Citadel. There are four large ports in the city and traditionally Alexandria is a key transport, logistics, and commercial hub. The building of the Central Alexandria Railway Station is one of the most beautiful ones in the city, and the railways of the region serve millions of people on a monthly basis. Due to the location of the city right on the border of the continents, religions, and cultures, it is possible to see plenty of establishments in Alexandria like cathedrals, churches, mosques, theaters, libraries, markets, shopping centers, and so on.
