I always thought it was Balfron Tower in Popular that served as the exterior of the tower block where Frank and Hannah live. Perhaps this is just my assumption based on the E/SE London filming locations of the other scenes. Is there something to suggest it's Trellick over Balfron? I can't find any footage of the scene at the moment.
Balfron Tower is definitely the correct tower; it is the exact tower shown in all external shots: the far-away Christmas lights; rooftop; balcony; exiting in the taxi. The interior of the tower block apartment was apparently shot at the [old] 'River Heights' tower block on Glyndon Road in SE London.
Balfron and Trellick Towers do look similar (designed by the same architect) though, which may be the source of the tower confusion.
